Tesla Diner in Hollywood: Eat, Charge and Catch a Movie in One Stop
Part diner, part Supercharger hub and part drive-in theater, Tesla Diner is one of Hollywood's more unusual stops.

Los Angeles
Turn a charging stop into a night out.
If you're driving through Hollywood and spot a silver, spaceship-like building surrounded by rows of Superchargers on Santa Monica Boulevard, you've found Tesla Diner.
It's not a Tesla showroom, and it's definitely more than a charging station with a burger counter.
The concept combines three very California ideas in one place:
a classic American diner, a large EV charging hub and a drive-in theater.
For Tesla travelers, it's one of the more interesting places in Los Angeles to turn a charging stop into part of the trip. And even if you don't drive a Tesla—or an EV at all—you can still walk in, grab food and head upstairs to the rooftop Skypad.
01 | So, What Exactly Is Tesla Diner?
Tesla Diner is located at:
7001 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038
The idea behind it is pretty simple: if EV drivers are already stopping to charge, why not make that time actually enjoyable?
The result is a two-story retro-futuristic diner inspired by old-school American drive-ins, but filled with modern charging technology and Tesla touches.
The site includes:
- 80 V4 Supercharger stalls
- 250+ dining seats
- two approximately 66-foot LED megascreens
- indoor dining
- a rooftop Skypad
- in-car ordering for Tesla drivers
- car-side food delivery
- Tesla Diner-exclusive merchandise
Tesla describes it as the world's largest urban Supercharging station, with charging available to Tesla vehicles and compatible NACS-equipped EVs.
02 | The Experience Is More Interesting Than Just the Food
Los Angeles has no shortage of great burgers.
The reason to stop here is the way Tesla has built an entire experience around something as routine as charging a car.

Order Without Leaving Your Tesla
Tesla drivers can open the Tesla Diner app directly on the vehicle touchscreen and order from the car.
Your meal can then be delivered to the driver's-side window.
It's a fun update to the classic American drive-in: instead of waiting in a 1950s cruiser for a milkshake, you're watching your battery percentage climb while dinner comes to the car.

Charge While Watching a Movie
Two giant LED screens overlook the charging area and show movies, classic programming and special content.
Tesla drivers can view the current programming through the vehicle interface, while everyone else can watch from the outdoor seating areas or the rooftop Skypad.
There's no separate movie ticket. Tesla says guests can stay and watch as long as they're actively dining or charging.
The Skypad is especially worth visiting after dark. It gives you a better view of the screens, the surrounding city and the full retro-futuristic design of the diner.

03 | What's on the Menu?
Think classic American diner food rather than a serious destination restaurant.
The overall concept centers on easy road-trip food—burgers, fried sides, sandwiches, breakfast items, desserts, shakes and drinks.
One of the most photographed details since opening has been the Tesla-themed presentation, including Cybertruck-inspired food packaging.
Just keep one thing in mind:
the menu changes.
Tesla Diner has adjusted its offerings since opening, so if you're coming specifically for something you saw in an older TikTok, Instagram Reel or travel post, check the live menu first.
Tesla currently describes the food as American diner classics with a retro-futuristic twist, and vegetarian options are available.
04 | Do You Need to Own a Tesla?
No.
Tesla Diner is open to everyone.
You don't need to:
- own a Tesla,
- charge an EV,
- buy a movie ticket,
- or make a reservation.
Non-Tesla visitors can simply enter the diner and order inside.
The one thing to know is parking: the on-site parking spaces are intended for EV charging.
If you're arriving in a car but not charging, Tesla recommends using nearby street parking or local garages.
For rideshare, the recommended drop-off point is N Orange Drive.
05 | Can Other EVs Charge Here?
Yes, if they're compatible.
Tesla Diner has 80 V4 Supercharger stalls available to Teslas and NACS-compatible non-Tesla EVs.
If your vehicle requires a NACS adapter, make sure you have a compatible one before arriving.
Charging spaces cannot be reserved in advance, so availability works like a normal Supercharger location.
The difference is scale—80 stalls is considerably larger than a typical urban charging stop.

06 | When's the Best Time to Visit?
You can stop by during the day, but for a first visit, late afternoon into evening makes the most sense.
The building was made for nighttime.
Once the exterior lighting comes on, the movie screens brighten up and the rows of Superchargers fill the lot, the whole place feels much more like the retro-future concept Tesla was aiming for.
A simple plan works well:
Arrive before sunset → plug in → order from the car → head up to the Skypad → eat → catch part of a movie → leave with a charged car.
That makes the stop feel like part of your Los Angeles itinerary rather than a special trip just for a burger.
07 | About Those “24/7” Hours
This can be confusing.
Tesla often promotes the Diner as a 24/7 experience, but its current support page gives a more specific breakdown:
- Public diner access: 6:00 AM – midnight
- Tesla in-car food ordering: 24/7
- Supercharging remains available around the clock
So yes, you can arrive at 2 AM to charge and potentially order from your Tesla—but that doesn't necessarily mean the indoor dining room is open.
Hours can change, so check Tesla's current information before making a special trip.
08 | A Few Things to Know Before You Go
No reservations. Tesla currently does not take advance dining reservations.
Tesla drivers can order ahead. In-car ordering is available through the Tesla Diner app on the touchscreen.
It's cashless. Major credit cards and Apple Pay are accepted inside. In-car orders use the payment method linked to the Tesla account.
No alcohol—for now. Tesla currently says alcohol is not served.
Go upstairs. The Skypad is one of the best parts of the visit, especially in the evening.
Merch changes often. Some Tesla Diner merchandise is exclusive to this location and rotates as products sell out.
Optimus isn't guaranteed. Tesla's humanoid robot has made appearances here, but Tesla says those appearances are occasional rather than scheduled every day.
09 | How to Work It Into a Los Angeles Day
You don't need to build an entire day around Tesla Diner.
It fits naturally into a Hollywood itinerary, for example:
Griffith Observatory / Hollywood Sign → Hollywood Boulevard → Tesla Diner → Sunset Boulevard
You can also spend the afternoon around Beverly Hills or West Hollywood and use the Diner as an evening charging and dinner stop.
For travelers renting a Tesla, that's probably the smartest way to visit:
go when you already need a charge.
Instead of spending charging time sitting in a parking lot, dinner and a small Hollywood attraction become part of the same stop.
10 | Is It Worth Visiting?
If you're looking for the best burger in Los Angeles, that's probably not the point.
If you're interested in the combination of Tesla, LA car culture, retro Americana and future-tech design, though, Tesla Diner is genuinely unusual.
It's especially fun for first-time Tesla drivers, EV fans, families, or anyone looking for something a little different from another standard restaurant stop.
You don't need to stay for hours.
Come around sunset, charge the car, eat something, catch a little of whatever's playing and head back out into Los Angeles.
